Backups On Android And IOS
Sometimes due to carelessness and sometimes because of the hands of others, come on, a full-blown robbery, losing your cell phone is always a task and not only because of the disbursement of a new terminal. That small extension of the human body also called a smartphone is the disaster drawer of our entire daily life, with it we take pictures, write messages, orient ourselves, play and even work. Theft involves losing important photos, contacts and messages, among many other things .
It can be avoided? Apart from trying to keep it in the safest pockets (inside, with zip) and having the location activated to be able to locate the terminal with “find my device“, in the case of Android, and “find my iPhone“, in case of iOS, there is a foolproof remedy to not lose our data. The backups.
Thanks to the evolution of technology, we currently have two options, digital and analog . Taking into account that the analog backup depends on having a computer with sufficient storage and the routine acquired to dump our files from time to time, the most effective option is undoubtedly the digital one that is as easy as synchronizing the respective cloud services that each operating system has.
BACKUP – IF YOU HAVE AN ANDROID MOBILE
The fastest and, therefore, the most comfortable is to use Google Drive . This system stores the call history, application data, device settings, contacts, SMS and photos and videos in the cloud.
In Settings, press “Google” and “make backup” . Check that the “backup” tab in Google Drive is activated and press “Create a backup now“. Ideally, this operation should be performed when the terminal is connected to a WiFi network so as not to spend monthly rate data.
When the process is finished, all the data will be in Google Drive and resetting it to a new terminal is as easy as: first, enter the Gmail account, then the phone will indicate that a backup has been found, after which you have to press “restore“.
There is the option of going from section to section , although it is somewhat more tedious. If it’s videos and photos, Google Photos would be the easiest option.
Storage in this cloud is unlimited, free and usually comes preinstalled on all Android terminals. Although it reduces the quality, in the photos and videos made with the mobile phone it is barely noticeable , everything must be said.
The steps are simple, install or open the application, log in with Google, if you have never used this service you will see the options to store with the original size in Google Drive or use unlimited storage from Google Photos. Whatever the choice, the application will detect all files and upload them progressively.
In the case of wanting to upload documents or other downloaded files the method is similar. You can climb to the clouds mentioned above . For example, if the one selected is Google Drive, just open the application, optionally create a folder to have the files located, press the “+” button, choose “upload”, press the points that appear in the upper right area and choose “show internal storage”.
In the drop-down menu, select “internal storage” and then “download”. You just have to select the files that you want to keep and ready. If the documents are in WhatsApp , the route would be WhatsApp and from there open WhatsApp Document.
BACKUP – IF YOU HAVE AN IPHONE
Have an iPhone, iPad and iPod touch the system is similar, although it should be noted that the iOS cloud system offers up to 2TB of storage , the first 5GB being free. Depending on the amount of information to be copied, it would be advisable to perform this task when the terminal is connected to a WiFi network .
To make a backup on an Apple device, from the “settings” menu, press the ID and press iCloud, then select “iCloud backup” and check “make backup now“.
When the process is finished, to confirm that the copy was made, simply return to the previous path and in “iCloud backup” verify that the date and time of the last backup corresponds to the one made. From now on, backups will be made automatically once a day .
What does not include? The information stored in other cloud services such as Gmail and Exchange mail, Apple Mail data, Face ID or Touch ID settings, contents of the iCloud Music Library and the App Store.
To restore the data in a new terminal of the company just access the screen of apps and data, press “restore with copy of iCloud” and then log in with the Apple ID. In “select copy” a list of backups will appear, so as not to lose any data it would be best to choose the most current one .
